The first Mass was held January 18, 1981, at the Coweta Elementary School Gym.  Wrestling mats covered with an altar cloth served as the first altar for the small community of sixteen families.

By October 1981, the parishioners had relocated to the second  story of Sunshine Cleaners in downtown Coweta.  Then in 1982, ten acres of land was purchased on South G Street (now 297th E Ave.).  Many parishioners helped daily in the construction of the present parish, which is a multi-purpose building.

The first Mass was held, in the new building, by Bishop Eusebius Beltran on August 21, 1983.  At this time Bishop Beltran blessed the parish, with a membership of 50 plus families in attendance.

Deacon Lamar Yarbrough currently serves as Parish Life Coordinator to the 70+ families in the Parish as of September 2009.

Fr. Joe Townsend of St. Benedict Parish in Broken Arrow is our Celebrant for Eucharist each Sunday, Wednesday evening and Holy Days.
